House of dads

Since January 2016 Psy + Onlus is scientific partner of Cooperative Apriti Sesamo in project management House of the Dads, funded and led by Department of Social Policies, Subsidiarity and Health di Rome capital city. The House of the Dads is an innovative project of secondary prevention and support for parenthood which provides for actions of concrete housing support combined with actions of psycho-social support and family mediation and legal advice. Psy + Onlus is in charge of family mediation services, parenting support, psychological support and team supervision. The essential innovation introduced in the design phase is the presence of a scientific committee, coordinated by Psy + Onlus, composed of psychologists belonging to the Department of Dynamic and Clinical Psychology of the University "La Sapienza", members of the "Violence in Intimate Relations" working group of theOrder of Psychologists of Lazio, sociologists and expert lawyers of the phenomenon. The scientific committee will have a consultancy and research function.

The reception facility is housed in a residence, which welcomes fathers (with minor children) who are separated or who have interrupted their cohabitation, temporarily in socio-economic difficulties, residing in the territory of the Municipality of Rome. Separated fathers will have the opportunity to stay for a maximum period of 12 months (which can be extended after joint evaluation with the Social Services) in a structure dedicated to them.

Insertion requests can only be made at the Social Services of the Municipality of residence.
