The "A Special Life, Special care for Special Needs" project involves volunteers selected by Psy + Onlus in the implementation of innovative activities in favor of users with intellectual disabilities, guests of the Naša Kuća day center, in Belgrade, Serbia. The project entered the operational phase from September 2015 when the selected volunteers followed an intensive training weekend with the experts of Psy + Onlus and the staff of Naša Kuća.
Alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse are clinical conditions characterized by specific thought structures and certain behavioral aspects related to the use of the alcoholic substance. The palatability of alcoholic drinks it prevailed over the others for its tonic and euphoric effect, for the momentary relief they give to anguish and for the sense of solidarity among individuals that "drinking together" has always meant. The importance of the socio-cultural, biological, genetic and psychological dimension that constantly pushes the individual towards the use and subsequent abuse of this substance should not be underestimated. Psychological reasons include incentives that facilitate alcoholism, states of tension, difficulties in human relationships, feelings of insecurity, the inability of personal affirmation and the need for gratification. The unstoppable desire that drives the patient with an alcohol addiction to take this substance, the effects of which have already been experienced in the past, is called craving. During the seminar we will try to provide a picture of the different types of craving in the alcoholic patient and related psychopathological manifestations, the most effective treatments will be illustrated to prevent and contrast the spread of this phenomenon.

The Psy + Seminars, in their second edition, are proposed as support for the Continuous Training of Mental Health Operators.
In particular, they are aimed at psychology students, students of training sciences, psychologists, psychotherapists, doctors, paediatricians, socio-health workers, teachers and all those interested in the topic.
The seminars are in fact an opportunity for comparison and updating on issues related to the individual's mental, physical and social well-being. It is therefore possible to create dialogues between the various theoretical orientations and provide a communicative window with them.
The main objective is to provide continuous updating on the most frequent psychopathological frameworks in clinical practice and to offer a space for reflection through the interaction of various theoretical-clinical experiences.
Each seminar cycle proposed is completely free. At the end of the seminars, a scientific documentation is drawn up to deepen the themes and provide more and further theoretical references based on the most recent contributions offered by the international scientific panorama. The scientific teaching material will be provided to members who request it.
Our seminars have been advertised on the website of the Order of Psychologists of Abruzzo and of the Order of Psychologists of Lazio, having been recognized as a precious opportunity for continuous training in psychology and psychotherapy.
In 2015, an agreement was opened with the European Research Institute in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in Rome, which offered its premises for their development.

Since January 2016 Psy + Onlus is scientific partner of Cooperative Apriti Sesamo in project managementHouse of the Dads, funded and led by Department of Social Policies, Subsidiarity and Health di Rome capital city. The House of the Dads is an innovative project of secondary prevention and support for parenthood which provides for actions of concrete housing support combined with actions of psycho-social support and family mediation and legal advice. Psy + Onlus is in charge of family mediation services, parenting support, psychological support and team supervision. The essential innovation introduced in the design phase is the presence of a scientific committee, coordinated by Psy + Onlus, composed of psychologists belonging to the Department of Dynamic and Clinical Psychology of the University "La Sapienza", members of the "Violence in Intimate Relations" working group of theOrder of Psychologists of Lazio, sociologists and expert lawyers of the phenomenon. The scientific committee will have a consultancy and research function.

Emigration implies a break, a detachment; it means abandoning, going away, leaving behind a protective shell, the homeland, and heading elsewhere. Elsewhere is a place far from the sounds, smells, sensations that constitute the first traces on which a psychic functioning code has been established. It means finding oneself halfway between two cultures, "plucking one's roots from the land of origin, looking for a way to transplant oneself into the new land, with the need not to renounce oneself, one's own identity" (Mazzetti, 1996). A phenomenon of this magnitude involves the crossing of certain psychic paths and also of possible manifestations of discomfort. The subjects who come to us are generally people who in their country have fought for a long time against a dictatorship, or against a political situation that deprived them of all freedom; who have seen comrades, family members disappear or have suffered injustice and violence themselves for having protested. What you are looking for is a place where your rights are respected, where your identity and autonomy are welcomed without prejudice. The aim of the seminar will be to analyze the traumatic consequences that a forced migration path produces on a subject and what are the possible intervention strategies to favor social integration.
Finally, with the first issue of the Psy + Onlus Newsletter, we can start to inform you regularly about the social activities of our association. In these first five years the working group has grown, in number and in operational capacity, and the patrimony of competence and motivation of each member is finding a place in the projects for the benefit of the community. Precarious among the precarious, as operators of the non-profit private social sector, we have to deal daily with the difficulty of consolidating a team, its practices, its common culture. We are succeeding, and despite the different approaches (or perhaps thanks to this variety) Psy + Onlus is increasingly being characterized as a co-construction space, as a project development laboratory, as a structure whose internal solidarity translates into interventions in solidarity with favor of the territory. Coordinate, cooperate, assist. At various levels, everyone's ability to collaborate is expressed in contributing to that which exceeds the sum of the parts. Together, we can do more, and do it better. From Italian language and culture courses for unaccompanied foreign minors, to informal training, from scientific seminars to listening counters in schools, from consultancy services, psychological support and psychotherapy to the development and implementation of pathological addiction projects, support for parenting, integration, de-institutionalization, countering bullying and early school leaving. In the pages of this newsletter, in this and in the numbers that follow, we will take care to describe the associative activities to our members, our supporters and anyone interested in these issues, in the hope of being able to communicate the passion with which we are engaged in dissemination of good practices in psychology, psychotherapy, social solidarity and cooperation. In the experience of panic, one of the central elements is represented by the emergency: Hades used Pan and Pena to sow terror among men, sending them to each other without giving prior warning. The emergency, which materializes starting from sensational psychophysiological manifestations, is also configured as an unexpected and terrifying loss of the possibility of containing / controlling / protecting one's body and one's sense of identity. Paradoxically, the fear of dying joins here the need to "die to oneself" to undertake a process of re-appropriation of the multiple polarities of the Self, which can be recognized and reintegrated in the structuring of an ego-sustainable identity. To positively initiate a therapeutic process that can also be of medium to long duration, it is necessary, first of all, to be able to welcome the anguished experience of the person in front of us and adopt strategies to contain the psychophysiological symptomatology of which the crisis is the bearer.
Eating disorders are increasingly identifiable as a body metamorphosis to narrate discomfort. Their presence and incidence in modern and western society is increasing more and more, but they are starting to go beyond Culture Bound syndrome and they become real clinical puzzles that cannot be separated from individual psychic functioning, from the way of perceiving and identifying emotions, from the level and presence of alexithymic moments and from the planning of a hypertrophic super-ego (Recalcati, 2001).
The psychic functioning modality and the mentalization ability of subjects affected by DCA offer a clinical look that opens the way to different perspectives and modalities of therapeutic approach. DCAs are a pathology that must necessarily be addressed according to a multidisciplinary and bio-psycho-social approach. It is necessary to involve the family and look at the disturbance within the individual and his specific psychic functioning.
The seminar proposes the search for a dialogue between methodologies that has as its ultimate goal the well-being of the individual.
The data of this contribution were taken from a research work carried out in Italy and Holland in 2009 on the effect of experience abroad for study reasons as a mechanism capable of modifying the representations of the European Union among university students. For the understanding of this social phenomenon, we have taken into consideration a series of macro factors relating to the construction of identity, migratory movements and the debate on the emergence of a European identity, as well as some cognitive constructs deemed capable of discriminating participants to research, such as socio-cultural adaptation and intolerance to ambiguity.
This cartoon from Pixar it is extraordinary for many reasons. Personally I prefer one above all: it tells (and does not explain, boring psychologists think about it!) How the human mind works in such a simple and beautiful way that it almost seems to touch with hand all those psychic elements and structures often studied with great difficulty on books!
At the same time I would like to start this post by sharing the feeling of discomfort and annoyance that I felt in the first 15 minutes of the cardboard. The reason for this initial annoyance depended on two factors. First, I feared that history would offer us a model of mental well-being based exclusively on the idea of optimism, represented by Gioia (I must say, initially a bit unpleasant!) Who immediately imposed herself as a protagonist, trying to inhibit all other emotions, especially apathy (and nice!) Sadness. The slogan seemed to be: "you have to be optimistic, happy, confident and everything will go well!" This idea is not in itself negative but, psychologically, wrong. Life and our experiences are too complex to believe that well-being lies only in positive thinking. The second aspect that annoyed me is linked to the idea, always initial, that our internal world was very, very similar to the "internal world" of a computer. The psychological model represented moved on the conceptual basis of a schematic organization, only cognitive, where it was enough to dose the emotions well and all the experiences would have been managed better. A theory emerged of a neutral mind at birth (the famous "tabula rasa") which begins to accumulate memories, possibly positive, with a mechanism similar to the functioning of an electronic machine, which stores data and classifies them by topics; in short, for a quarter of an hour I feared the worst!
In these great times migration, there is a lot of talk about landings, numbers, money spent onwelcome. Too little is said about their stories, the reason that drove them to come here and the drama that they bring in once they arrive. This drama is in turn the only tool for obtaining international protection recognition in our country. The deeper, more serious and tragic this drama, the more likely it is that their application will be accepted.

The seminar aims to be a moment of reflection in which to define guidelines that contribute to the promotion of the use and non-abuse of communicative media.
