PHOTOGRAPHY AND REPORTAGE

PHOTOGRAPHY AND REPORTAGE
curated by Valentina Valente - March / May 2015

The training course will be dedicated initially to the visual, theoretical and technical background of the photographic art, in the second part to the elaboration of a short reportage. If the first part will consist of more theoretical and frontal technical lessons, the second will be dedicated to the comparison and elaboration of ideas and paths that allow each of the participants to undertake a personal and subjective path for their photographic work. The aim of the course is to reach a good knowledge of the theoretical and technical bases of photography and then undertake an independent path.

For a true photographer, a story is not an address to go to
with sophisticated machines and the right filters.
A story means to read, study, prepare.
To photograph means to search in things
what one has understood with the head.
Tiziano Terzani

The lessons last two hours and will be theoretical and practical. The path starts from the use of themachine to photographic printing and the preparation of the final exhibition. The aim of the course is first of all to give awareness of the technical means, but also of the conceptual, descriptive and narrative potential of the photographic image. This will be done by looking for a path that goes from shooting to printing set in a more personalized way.
