A SPECIAL LIFE, SPECIAL CARE FOR SPECIAL NEEDS
THE PROJECT
The "A Special Life, Special care for Special Needs" project involves volunteers selected by Psy + Onlus in the implementation of innovative activities in favor of users with intellectual disabilities, guests of the Naša Kuća day center, in Belgrade, Serbia.
The project entered the operational phase from September 2015 when the selected volunteers followed an intensive training weekend with the experts of Psy + Onlus and the staff of Naša Kuća.
THE EXPERIENCE OF OUR VOLUNTEERS
Since October 2015 two volunteers, Paolo Azzolini and Monica Ranieri, have worked regularly within Naša Kuća, supporting its activities on a daily basis and spending their time in close contact with the children of the day center.
Cooking, packaging construction, home delivery of meals for the elderly and people unable to move, artistic and creative workshops are just some of Naša Kuća's activities, which for years, with commitment and without any public funding, has offered a model of assistance different from the 'institutionalization. Monica in collaboration with Frontiere News, has produced a video report visible on the Psy + Onlus website and in the Reportage section of Frontiere (http://frontierenews.it/2015/12/belgrado-special-life-disabilita/). A partnership with the Faculty of Psychology of Belgrade allowed to further enrich the project. Visits were carried out by Systemic Psychotherapists of the Psy + Onlus Clinical Center, in order to support families of the disabled.
The project ended in December 2016. Thank you for the support you have given!
